NOTES FROM THE GROUP MEETINGS Contributed by Suzanne Hamilton
Our first meeting for the year was held on Saturday 20th February. The topic was scanning, presented by David Whitehouse. He demonstrated the art of cropping photographs for their various uses, and also the enlarging of family snaps to obtain otherwise unnoticeable clues to put names to faces, location, probable date etc.
The 9th March meeting was a presentation by Paul Ashton on Family Tree Maker. Paul answered many questions from the floor, in some cases encountering applications that he had not before used. The presentation was of general interest to all the group, as much of it applied to most genealogical programmes.
At the meeting on the 13th April Xavier Jones will speak about computer advances. Xavier is very knowledgable about computers generally, and we are looking forward with great interest to this presentation.
